Why can't Windows open my HEIC photos?
HEIC is Apple's default photo format and older versions of Windows don't decode it without an add-on. Converting to JPG makes the photos open everywhere.
Will converting to JPG lose quality?
JPG is lossy, so there is a small quality reduction. At 90% quality the difference is usually invisible for photos while the file stays compatible.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
