Supported formats & limits

Limitations

  • Colours are quantized approximations of the most common tones.
  • Very colourful images are summarized into a small palette.
  • Transparent pixels are ignored.

Common problems & fixes

Too many near-identical colours.

The tool clusters similar tones; pick the few that best represent the image.

A transparent PNG gives odd colours.

Fully transparent areas have no colour — flatten onto a background first if needed.
